What are the SEBI investment adviser registration fees for an individual?
An individual pays SEBI ₹2,000 with the application and ₹3,000 when registration is granted, so ₹5,000 in all. After that it is ₹1,000 every five years. The deposit (₹1 lakh for up to 150 clients) and BSE's administration fee are separate.

The figures come from the Second Schedule to the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013. Individuals and firms sit in one category. A company or LLP pays more.
| Fee | When | Individual or firm | Company or LLP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Application fee | With Form A, non-refundable | ₹2,000 | ₹10,000 |
| Registration fee | When SEBI grants the certificate | ₹3,000 | ₹15,000 |
| Fee to keep registration in force | Every five years from the grant date | ₹1,000 | ₹5,000 |
The five-yearly fee is paid within the three months before the paid-up period runs out. The certificate itself has no expiry date, as this page explains.
What else you pay
- The deposit: ₹1 lakh for up to 150 clients, held in a scheduled bank and marked as lien in favour of BSE as IAASB. It stays your money. The deposit page has the higher slabs.
- BSE's administration fee as IAASB. SEBI's documents say only that it is as specified by the body, so we confirm the current figure when we scope your file.
- The NISM Series X-A and X-B exams.
- A Shops and Establishments registration if you apply as an individual or sole proprietor. Our fee for that is ₹2,500 plus the state fee.
Our fee
We charge ₹15,000 to prepare and file an individual investment adviser registration, and ₹45,000 for a partnership firm. SEBI and BSE fees and the deposit are paid at actuals on top. The cost calculator totals your own case, and the full route is in how to become a SEBI registered investment adviser.
Note
Older articles quote ₹5,000 for the application and ₹10,000 for registration. Those were the individual figures before 1 April 2021, when SEBI cut them to the amounts above.

What IA and RA registration costs, and what those figures leave out
SEBI's own fees are small enough to surprise people. The deposit, the enlistment fee and the annual audit are where the real number sits.
