We file your GST core-field amendment: a legal name change, a principal or additional place of business change within the same state, or an addition/deletion of partners, directors, or equivalent. We file it via FORM GST REG-14 within the 15-day deadline, and track it through officer review to the REG-15 approval order.
A legal name change, an office move within the state, or a change in your partners or directors: these are all GST 'core fields,' meaning they need officer approval instead of a simple portal update. We file the amendment and track it through to approval.
Some fields in your GST registration record can be updated instantly through the portal. Others are 'core fields' that need officer review and approval: your legal business name, your principal or additional place of business (within the same state), and any change in your partners, directors, or equivalent.
All core-field changes go through the same form, FORM GST REG-14, filed within 15 days of whatever triggered the change.
Covers legal name changes, same-state office moves, and partner/director additions or removals.
We track the filing through officer review (including responding to a clarification query, if one comes up) to your final approval order.
These need officer scrutiny and approval before they take effect, unlike non-core fields (bank details, HSN/SAC codes, and similar), which auto-approve without officer intervention.
One nuance worth knowing: an approved core-field amendment is generally treated as effective from the date of the actual triggering event rather than the date the officer approves it. We confirm this applies to your specific filing before relying on it.
Step 1 of 4
Confirm the change
We identify exactly which core field is changing and what supporting proof it needs.
Common mistakes founders make
Your legal business name (without a PAN change), your principal or additional place of business within the same state, and any change to partners, directors, or equivalent roles.
15 days from the date of the triggering event.
That's not a core-field amendment. A cross-state move requires cancelling your GSTIN and registering fresh in the new state. See our GST address-change service for that scenario.
If no action is taken within the review window, the amendment is deemed approved automatically.
