My broker is not resolving my complaint. How do I escalate it?
Take the complaint to the broker first. If it rejects the complaint or does not reply, lodge it on SEBI's SCORES platform within one year of the cause of action (SEBI circular of 20 September 2023). The broker has 21 calendar days to resolve it and upload an action taken report.
If you are unhappy with that report, ask for a review within 15 calendar days. The designated body sends a revised report within 10 calendar days. A second review, again asked for within 15 days, goes to SEBI.
You can move to online dispute resolution on SMART ODR at smartodr.in at any point, and SCORES then treats the complaint as disposed. ODR runs conciliation first and online arbitration if that fails. SCORES does not take a matter already before a court or pending in ODR.
The route checker gives your SCORES dates from the day you complained.
