TDS rate finder

Say what you are paying and who you are paying. You see whether TDS applies, the rate, the rupees to deduct and the section that says so.

Who this is for
Anyone who pays a contractor, professional, landlord or agent in India and needs to know whether to deduct TDS.
What the free answer tells you
Whether TDS applies, the rate, the rupees to deduct and the section of the 2025 Act, with the old 1961 number.
See an example, the time it takes and what comes after
Example
A company paying a consultant ₹80,000 deducts ₹8,000 at 10%, under section 393(1), Table Sl. No. 6(iii) (section 194J of the 1961 Act).
What you can get after
Nothing to buy for the answer. If you want the TDS working and the quarterly statements prepared and filed, ask for a free consultation.
How long it takes
About a minute. Taps and two numbers.
What happens next
Deduct when you credit or pay. Nothing you enter is stored.

Rates for payments from 1 April 2026 under the Income-tax Act, 2025. Payments from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026 follow the 1961 Act at the same rates and limits. For a payment dated before 1 April 2025 the tool gives no rate.

BuildWright does documentation, filing and compliance facilitation. This tool works from the rules cited on this page and does not give legal advice. You deduct and deposit the tax yourself; we prepare the TDS working and file the quarterly statements.

Paying contractors, professionals or landlords? We prepare the TDS working and file the quarterly statements.
