DGFT requires every IEC holder to confirm their details electronically each year, between 1 April and 30 June, even if nothing has changed. Miss that window and the IEC deactivates automatically from 1 July. A deactivated IEC functions the same as having no IEC at all for import/export purposes.

One thing we won't tell you: that reactivation happens instantly or fully automatically once the update is filed. We've seen that claim on other sites, and it isn't corroborated against DGFT's own trade notice text. What we can tell you is what we do: we file the pending update for you.
